Sarah Frederiksen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Italian, from the University of California, Davis. She has studied and worked in Italy, and traveled within the USA, South America, India, and other parts of Europe. Her most recent work abroad was as a child development consultant at an orphanage in India. She served several years as Director of Italian Children’s Programs at the Italian Cultural Society of Sacramento, CA, and has also worked as a teacher, special education assistant, nanny, and camp counselor. Sarah’s particular child development interests involve infant-rearing practices across cultures, and infants-at-risk resulting from institutionalization, premature-birth, and poverty. She is a Research Assistant at two locations, the International Adoption Project at Eliot-Pearson with Dr. A. Easterbrooks and Dr. E. Pinderhughes, and the Neurobehavioral Infant & Child Studies lab at Children's Hospital Boston with Dr. H. Als. Sarah is currently working on her Master’s degree in Child Development from the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University, MA.
