Ashley Everette graduated from Randolph-Macon College in May of 2007 with a B.A. in Psychology and Minor in Ethics. During her undergraduate research experience she focused on Behavioral Neuroscience. Her interest in international adoption developed when she had the opportunity to travel to Romania and examine the current state of children in both orphanages and foster care. While in Bucharest, she was able to visit several institutionalized care facilities, foster care families, and talk with program officials responsible for orphaned children in this city. In January 2007, she was also able to travel to South Africa and visit an AIDS orphanage in Johannesburg, which was a life changing experience. Now, Ashley is an M.A. student at The Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University. Currently, she is involved in an International Adoption research project headed by Ann Easterbrooks and Ellen Pinderhughes.
