Bake sale for thriving!
Thousands of children around the world live in orphanages. Some of these children have cleft palates that prevent them from eating correctly. This problem leads to many developmental disabilities and sometimes death. Help us raise funds to buy special bottles that will allow these children to grow strong as they await their surgeries. On Saturday May 9th, fifteen members of the Tufts Child's Right to Thrive organization joined forces to fundraise and walk in the
This Latin American-themed event will include a book reading by author Steve Reifenberg of his book Santiago's Children: What I Learned about Life at an Orphanage in Chile. In this beautifully written memoir, Reifenberg recalls his two years at the Hogar Domingo Savio. His vivid descriptions create indelible portraits of a dozen remarkable kids. As Reifenberg learns more about the children’s circumstances, he begins to see the bigger picture of life in Chile at a crucial moment in its history.
